PawzWall ("the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our application. We take your privacy seriously and want to be transparent about our practices. Notably, we do not require an email address for registration, prioritizing your anonymity and data minimization.

2. Information We Collect

PawzWall collects the following minimal information necessary for functionality:

• Account Information: Username and password for user authentication. No email address or phone number is required or collected.
• Device Identifier: A platform-specific device identifier is collected solely to enforce our security policy (maximum 2 accounts per device) and to enable secure, device-bound password recovery. On Android this is the device’s ANDROID_ID; on iOS it is the vendor identifier; on Windows/macOS/Linux it is the corresponding system device ID. This identifier does not include your name, phone number, or precise location. On some platforms it may remain the same after reinstalling the App.
• Profile Information: Optional profile description, social media links (Instagram and TikTok only), and country preference.
• Game Statistics: Wins, losses, games played, win rate, leaderboard rank, and virtual currency (PiCoin) balance.
• Usage Data: Gameplay preferences, in-app actions, and multiplayer interactions (including matchmaking and online room activity).
• Support Messages: Communications you send through the in-app support feature.
• Customization Data: Selected emoji avatars and purchased emoji items.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

• Create and manage your user account securely without requiring personal contact information.
• Enforce the "2 accounts per device" security limit to prevent spam and abuse.
• Enable secure, device-bound password recovery (ensuring recovery is only available from a device associated with the account).
• Provide and maintain the App’s functionality and multiplayer gaming features.
• Track game statistics, leaderboards, and virtual currency (PiCoin).
• Display public profiles (including to guests browsing the leaderboard).
• Process in-app purchases and manage virtual currency.
• Provide daily rewards and bonuses.
• Respond to support requests and inquiries.
• Improve stability via anonymous analytics and crash reports.
• Comply with legal obligations.

4. User Accounts & Security

PawzWall offers optional user accounts with the following privacy-focused features:

• Registration: Users can create accounts with a username and password only. No email or phone number is required.
• Device Limit: For security and fairness, a maximum of two (2) accounts can be registered per unique device identifier.
• Device-Bound Password Recovery: If you forget your password, recovery is available only when the request comes from a device identifier matching the one stored for that account. This helps prevent unauthorized access.
• Account Deletion: Users can permanently delete their account and all associated data at any time through the App settings.
• Guest Access: Some features (such as viewing public profiles and the leaderboard) are available without logging in.

5. Social Media Links

Users may optionally add social media links to their profile. PawzWall only accepts:

• Instagram: Links to Instagram profiles.
• TikTok: Links to TikTok profiles.

Other social media links or URLs are not permitted. Social media links are publicly visible on user profiles and are used solely for connecting with other players.

6. Virtual Currency (PiCoin)

PawzWall uses a virtual currency system called "PiCoin" with the following characteristics:

• PiCoin can be earned through gameplay (winning matches, playing with friends, daily rewards).
• PiCoin can be purchased through in-app purchases using real money via Google Play Billing.
• PiCoin has no real-world monetary value outside the App.
• PiCoin cannot be transferred between users or exchanged for goods/services outside the App.
• All purchases are final and non-refundable except as required by law.

7. In-App Purchases

PawzWall offers optional in-app purchases for virtual currency (PiCoin) and customization items:

• Payment Processing: All purchases are processed securely through Google Play Billing.
• Payment Information: We do not store your credit card or payment information on our servers.
• Refunds: Refunds are handled by Google Play Store according to their policies.

8. Daily Rewards

PawzWall offers daily login rewards to encourage regular engagement:

• Daily Bonus: Users receive PiCoin rewards for logging in consecutively.
• Streak Tracking: Consecutive login days are tracked to increase reward amounts.
• Reset Policy: Missing a day resets the streak counter.

9. Customization and Emoji

Users can customize their gaming experience with emoji avatars. Some emoji require PiCoin or real money to unlock. Purchased items are licensed to your account, are non-transferable, and are visible to other players during multiplayer games.

PawzWall collects optional location preferences:

• Country Selection: Users can manually select their country for display on profiles and related features.
• No GPS Tracking: We do not track your real-time GPS location or access your device’s location services.
• Voluntary Data: Country selection is entirely optional and can be changed or removed at any time.

11. Backend Infrastructure & Third-Party Services

PawzWall uses a combination of secure services to operate:

• Custom Backend (Django + PostgreSQL): Handles user authentication, profile data, game statistics, device-based account limits, and secure device-bound password recovery. Hosted with encrypted connections (HTTPS).
• Firebase (Realtime Database / Firestore): Used for real-time multiplayer matchmaking, temporary game room synchronization, and related live game state.
• Google Play Billing: For processing in-app purchases and payments securely.
• Google Analytics & Crashlytics: For understanding anonymous usage patterns and improving app stability.

12. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information with:

• Service providers necessary for App operation (e.g., hosting providers, Google Play Billing, Firebase).
• Legal authorities when strictly required by law.
• Other players in multiplayer or public profile contexts (game-related data only, such as username, stats, country flag if set, and chosen emoji).

13. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:

• Passwords are securely hashed using industry-standard algorithms (never stored in plain text).
• All data transmission between the App and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
• Device-bound authentication helps prevent unauthorized password resets from unknown devices.

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

14. Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide the services:

• Account data is retained while your account is active.
• Purchase records are retained for legal and accounting purposes as required by Google Play.
• Old multiplayer game rooms are automatically purged after a short period of inactivity.
• Inactive accounts (no login for 80+ days) may be automatically deleted to protect privacy.
• You can manually delete your account and all associated data at any time through the App settings.

15. Children’s Privacy

PawzWall does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information and terminate the account. In-app purchases require parental consent for users under 18, as enforced by Google Play policies.

16. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information (via the in-app profile edit feature).
• Request permanent deletion of your data (via the in-app account deletion feature).
• Request a refund for in-app purchases (subject to Google Play Store policies).

17. Permissions

PawzWall requests minimal permissions necessary for functionality:

• Internet Permission: To connect to our secure backend and enable multiplayer features.
• Share Permission: To enable players to share game invites externally.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Your continued use of the App after any modifications indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
